Last fall Urban Outfitters asked me to direct an episode of their series 'US @ UO' which chronicles the lives of interesting creative people who work for URBN.
My subject was Nilea Alexander, a charming, stylish woman who runs the UO at Herald Square, currently the biggest UO store in America. If that weren't enough, she also runs a French-Senegalese restaurant, Cafe Rue Dix in Crown Heights.
My goal was to explore her unique perspective and creativity, and to find similarities between her work at UO and her life as a restauranteur.
After a full day and a LOT of senegalese food, I think I got to the bottom of it.
